Exquisite vintage ornate Venetian Murano Wedding Cake necklace featuring black and pink with gold fleck glitter.. The necklace is in mint condition from the 1940's. The glitter is a specific type of glass known as avventurina or aventurine. The term 'Wedding Cake Bead' seems to date from the early C19th, and is probably inspired by the highly decorative cakes that were becoming popular at weddings around the same time fiorato beads were beginning to appear outside of Venice.
