Born in England, Richard Morrell studied glass at Stourbridge School of Art. He graduated in 1976 and moved to Australia to take up a position at CIT - now Monash University in Melbourne. Since the early 1980s, Richard has been a professional glass artist and has built and run his studios at the Meat Market Craft Centre in Melbourne, Coburg, and Castlemaine Victoria. He has received numerous Australian and international awards and is represented in private and public collections worldwide including most major Australian public art galleries. Richard has maintained his engagement with education with several 'artist-in-residences' and lecturing positions at Australian universities.
