Frères MULLER (1897-1936), a rare multi-layer glass vase (triple thickness) with acid-etched decoration and reworked with a wheel depicting poppies in burgundy and purple, with dark burgundy foliage on a satin white opal underlay background clouded with rich colors, flaky powder melting in yellow and blue simulating an impressionist landscape. Circa 1920
Work of great finesse with all-sided decoration. Height: 15 cm. Diameter: 14 cm.
The vase is in excellent condition with no repairs, chips or cracks.
The French glassmakers Muller Frères made a name for themselves producing Art Nouveau glassware such as vases and lampshades. The Muller family, originally from Alsace, manufactured glassware between 1895 and 1933. Some members of the family worked with Emile Gallé before starting their own business.
