This attractive lacquer miniature box has been painted by Alexey Skalozub. Alexey has studied in the Palekh Art School in 1991-1996.
The lid of the box is covered with intricate gold pattern. The box's sides are decorated with gold ornamentation.
The box is constructed out of papier-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior and red lacquer to paint the interior of the box. The box is hinged to the left of the composition, and rests on four legs. It is signed with the artist's name, the village of Palekh
