A striking example of French Art Deco design, this large 30cm glass bowl was created by renowned designer Pierre d’Avesn, celebrated for his sculptural forms and bold geometric style. Produced around 1930, this piece showcases the crisp lines, elegant symmetry, and refined craftsmanship that define the era.

Signed “P. D’Avesn”, “Made in France”, and numbered 156, it is a superb collector’s piece and a beautiful statement for any interior.
Perfect as a centrepiece, display piece, or addition to a curated Art Deco collection.

Born in 1901, Pierre d'Avesn began his career at 14 years old working for Rene Lalique. He would stay with Lalique for the next ten years. During this period, he designed Lalique's famous Serpent vase as well as the Tourbillons vase, two of the most highly priced and extremely collectible pieces by Lalique. In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own models with pieces made by Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy. In 1930, Daum Frères asked him to take the artistic direction of their moulded glass department in their glassworks in Croismare, where he would stay until 1936.
